Reports & Dashboards
FiscFlow turns the data you enter into reports - formatted, exportable documents - and interactive analytics dashboards, plus a monitoring view for spotting submissions that are stuck. This page covers all three. (For the personal landing page you see at sign-in, see Your home dashboard.)
Running a report
- Open the list the report is about
For example, open your submissions or timesheets list - reports usually run against the records you're looking at.
- Choose the report
Pick it from the reports menu. Reports are grouped by category to keep long lists manageable.
- Preview, then export or print
The report opens in a preview with a clickable table of contents. Export to PDF or Excel, or print directly.
Filter or sort the list before running a report and the output usually respects it - a quick way to report on just one site, pay period, or status.
Report categories
Administrators organize reports into categories (under Setup) so people find the right report quickly. Categorizing a report doesn't change what it produces - only where it appears in the menu.
Reports you'll use most
Districts lean on a handful of reports again and again:
| Report | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Timesheet / submission summaries | A readable summary of a submission's hours or contents - commonly run against a Draft before submitting (see Create & submit timesheets). |
| Leave entitlement form (AB 1522) | The US paid-sick-leave entitlement statement - provided as a district-specific report. |
| Board Approval reports | Board-facing packets such as the Personnel Services Board Report. |
| Export reports | Formatted output built to hand off to another system. |
Need raw data instead of a formatted report? You can also export any list grid directly to Excel from the grid itself - handy for reconciliation and ad-hoc analysis.
Board reports
Board-facing reports - such as the Personnel Services Board Report - automatically pull your district's identity (name, and other header details) from District Options. Keep those fields current so board packets are titled correctly.
Analytics dashboards
Alongside reports, FiscFlow has analytics dashboards - interactive pages of charts, grids, and cards that summarize your data and let you filter and drill in, without running and exporting a formatted document. They're built once and reused: your district designs a dashboard, and staff open it to explore live figures.
| Trait | What it means |
|---|---|
| Interactive | Filter, sort, and click through to the underlying records - not a fixed snapshot. |
| Organized by category | Like reports, dashboards are grouped into dashboard categories so the right one is easy to find. |
| Built by your district | Administrators design and edit dashboards; everyday users open and read them. |
Reach for an analytics dashboard for ongoing, at-a-glance exploration; reach for a report when you need a formatted, exportable, or printable document.
These analytics dashboards are separate from your personal home dashboard - the landing page you see at sign-in, with your announcements, alerts, and recent activity.
Finding stuck submissions
The most valuable monitoring view is Stuck Submissions - submissions currently sitting at an approval step, shown with the role they're waiting on. It answers the everyday question "what's holding things up, and whose queue is it in?"
Because each stuck submission names the role it's waiting on - not a person - you can see at a glance whether a bottleneck is one overloaded role, and reassign or add role members accordingly. It also catches the worst case: a submission whose role nobody currently holds or covers, so it can't route to anyone. That's a configuration to fix - see Why can't I see or approve this? and Workflows, roles & filters.
