Signing In & Navigating
A quick orientation for new users: how to sign in, what you'll land on, how FiscFlow's navigation is laid out, and how to find the work that's waiting on you.
Signing in
FiscFlow supports up to three sign-in methods - your district enables the ones it uses:
| Method | Use when… |
|---|---|
| Sign in with Google | Your district uses Google Workspace accounts. |
| Sign in with Microsoft | Your district uses Microsoft / Entra ID (Azure AD) accounts. |
| Username & password | Your district issues a direct FiscFlow login. |
Whichever method you use, your access is tied to your employee record in FiscFlow. If you sign in and see nothing, your account may not be linked yet - contact your district's FiscFlow administrator.
What you land on
FiscFlow can take you straight to the screen that matters most for your role. Each role can define a default landing screen, so an approver might open to their approvals while a timekeeper opens to timesheets. If your role doesn't set one, you land on the default home.
If you hold more than one role, FiscFlow uses the landing screen from your most recent fiscal year's role. Administrators can set each role's landing screen.
Finding your way around
The left-hand navigation groups everything by purpose. What you see depends on your permissions:
| Area | What's there |
|---|---|
| Home | Your home dashboard - announcements, alerts, and your recent activity. A good starting point each day. |
| Your work areas | Submissions, timesheets, requisitions, and assignments - the records you create and act on. |
| Entitlement | Absence balances and packages. See Entitlements & absences. |
| Integrations | The HCM export and integration setup (admins). See HCM export. |
| Setup | Configuration - districts, sites, fiscal years, classifications, roles, and more (admins). |
Along the top you'll find the fiscal-year selector, your account menu, settings, and a Documentation button that opens this documentation site in a new tab.
My Details
The My Details shortcut opens your own employee record - your contact information and the positions (assignments) and roles you hold. It's the quickest way to confirm what you have access to and in which fiscal year.
Finding the work waiting on you
- Your submissions - everything you created or own, with its current status.
- Approvals - submissions sitting at a step your role is waiting on, split into Timesheet, PR, and Document approval queues. If you expected to see something and don't, check Who can see what.
- Stuck submissions - for monitors, the submissions waiting too long and the role they're waiting on. See Reports & dashboards.
FiscFlow works one fiscal year at a time. If a record seems to be missing, check that you're looking at the right year - your access is tied to the fiscal year of the position that grants it.
