Notifications
FiscFlow flags things that need attention right in the app, as alert banners on the home dashboard. This page covers those banners. For the notices FiscFlow sends by email, see Email & automation; for the messages your district posts for staff, see Announcements.
Alert banners
Above the tabs on your home dashboard, FiscFlow shows alert banners - colored strips that appear only when something needs attention. Each alert watches a kind of record for a condition you set and, when records match, shows a banner with the count.
Defining an alert Admin / champion
Alerts are configured under Setup → Customization. Each has:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name | The alert's label. |
| Target Object Type | Which kind of record it watches (for example, submissions). |
| Criteria | The condition that makes it fire (for example, submissions waiting longer than a threshold). Built against the target type. |
| Description | The banner message. Put {0} in it to drop in the count of matching records. |
| URL | Optional link - makes the banner jump straight to what needs attention. |
| Information Type | Severity, which sets the banner color: Error (red), Warning (orange), Info (blue), Success (green). |
| Image Name | Optional icon on the banner. |
An alert won't save with an invalid condition - "The criteria is invalid…" Build the condition against the alert's target record type so it can be evaluated. A banner appears only while at least one record matches.
System notices
Occasionally you may see a system notice at the top of FiscFlow - a platform-wide message such as scheduled maintenance. Unlike alert banners (driven by your data) and announcements (posted by your district), these come from the FiscFlow service itself, carry a severity color and a time window, and you can dismiss one once you've read it.
Banners are the in-app half of staying informed. To be notified without opening FiscFlow, see the notices it sends by email.
